What method of payment do you accept?
Cash or cheque is fine. Full payment is requested at the time of the appointment. If you need to postdate the cheque, please discuss this with us and we can work out a date that works for both of us.
How long does the appointment take?
Some customers have more questions and need more time to decide on the colors they want the final product to be, so the length of the appointments vary. Generally, it takes no longer than 20 -30 minutes total from the time I arrive until I walk out the door again when I'm making impressions for a plaque. However, expect at least an hour appointment if we are making a lifecast figure.
How quickly can I get an appointment?
It varies. During slower times, I may be able to come the next day if I'll be in your area of Winnipeg. During busier times, it may take a couple of weeks before I can get to your home to do the impressions. However, if you want the impressions taken sooner, you may come out to my home located in Ste-Anne, MB. It is approx. 20 minutes east of the perimeter.
Where are you located?
Because I work out of my home, I do not have a retail shop. If, however, you are interested in seeing my samples, you are welcome to make an appointment with me to view them.
I heard that you come to my house to do the appointments. Is this true?
Yes, most of the time I do go to the customer's house to do the impressions if they live within the Winnipeg city limits. I do this, because I understand how difficult it can be to get somewhere with a new baby. The day and time that I come out to your home will depend on when I am in your area of the city. If, however, you want the impressions to be done on a specific day, and I am not in your area at that time, I may ask you to come to my home. If you live outside the Winnipeg city limits, I ask that either you come to my home or to a location we both agree upon in the city.
How long does it take my impressions to be completed?
Normally, it takes about 6 weeks. If, however, you have thought of this as a last minute gift for someone, we will do our best to accommodate your needs. I will notify you when your impressions are done and we can meet in a mutually agreed upon location, or you may come to my home to pick them up.
My baby is already 5 months old. Isn't it too late to have impressions done?
Absolutely not! Many of my clients have their children's hands and feet done at 1 year. I've even done impressions and lifecasts for 10 and 12 year olds! "Our Baby Impressions" goal is to preserve the size, shape and lines of hands and feet. Whether that be for a newborn, toddler, older child, parent or even grandparent — it's up to you!
Why should I decide to use your service?
I have three children myself, and have had all of their hands done when they were 2 months old. I can appreciate the importance of preserving the memory of your children's hands and feet while they are so small because they really do grow fast. I am reliable, patient and friendly and I really do want to create a beautiful memory for you that will last a lifetime.
My baby is only five days old. Is it too early to do the impressions?
No. I have made impressions for babies as young as 5 days old. If your baby is a preemie, however, I suggest that you wait until your baby is older (at least term) and does not tire quickly.
Does making the impressions hurt the baby?
No it doesn't. Many babies sleep through the entire process. The materials used area all soft and non-toxic. Sometimes babies under the age of three months will cry, but it's because the clay is cool. Often babies over three months of age are curious to see what is happening, and don't say a word. It all depends on the child's disposition as well.
